Insect screens are installed to prevent insects from entering the building, but they are also useful to keep out larger polluting items carried in the air, especially feathers, hairs, and leaves. The most frequently used insect screen is recommended primarily for installation on windows and is mounted with screws. You can order screens with a thin, 11 x 30 mm or 10 x 25 mm aluminium frame, or the more robust version with a 20 x 22 frame, available in white or brown at standard prices or in individual colours on request. Plastic frames are only supplied in white or brown. The fiberglass mesh is available in light grey at standard prices but can also be ordered in white. We use fiberglass mesh from the American manufacturer New York Wire Company. In addition to traditional fixed screens, mobile screens are also available for installation in shutter frames or in opening and sliding types, adjusted to local conditions. You can find more information on these types in the Mobile Insect Screens menu. For heavy duty doors and windows, or if required by other circumstances (such as the presence of pets), the use of pet mesh is recommended.
