Roller blinds are classic shading devices to protect interiors from view and sunlight. Roller blinds have a simple working mechanism: on a spring or bead chain operated aluminium drum, a textile impregnated with synthetic resin to ensure that it retains its shape and remains creaseless is rolled up . Our company uses canvas from German shading manufacturer Bamberger, and our motorised systems are equipped with motors from Somfy, certified to ISO 9001 standards. Fourteen different types of canvas are available for the traditional transparent version, and 5 for the blackout type. For skylights, we recommend mainly roller blinds in aluminium pigmented versions, the canvases of which have good heat reflecting and shading properties owing to their external aluminium coating. Roller blinds have been available in encased and Lux versions since 2004.
Both versions have the advantage that they do not allow light through on the two sides of the canvas, as it is moved in side guides. The encased blind can only be fastened in its fully lowered position, while the Lux type can be positioned at any height. The Lux type has been designed especially for application on slanted skylights.
