Installing a motorised shutter
Wired motorisation requires wiring to be installed between the motors and control points used for the shutters.
If a central control unit is needed, then all of the motors must be interconnected. In most cases, it is recommended to use for the control of shutters a suitable type of the switch range that has been or is planned to be installed.
If you decide to install motorised shutters in the design stage or during restoration work to the building, then routing the wires for shutter motors is unproblematic and offers a more cost-efficient solution.
If work involving such an extent of wall slotting is no longer viable, or you simply need more comfort, then it is recommended to install a RF controlled shutter system.
Advantages of Operating a Motorised Shutter
Automated shutters provide for both comfort and security, sparing you all the effort of operating the shutters. Ordering timers for your motorised shutters could provide security against burglars, as you can use this feature to pretend that you are at home even when no-one actually stays inside the building.
Using an RF System to Operate a Motorised Shutter
The radio controlled system allows simple and fast installation without wall slotting and routing wires, while using the RF remote control provides for a feeling of enhanced comfort and convenience. In order to operate the motorised shutters with a RF system, all you need to do is to connect the motor to the 230 V supply.
The motor is integrated into the roller shutter tube, requiring no extra room outside the shutter. The motor uses a built-in radio receiver to communicate with RF transmitters such as a remote control or a programmable timer. You use the up/stop/down buttons on the remote control to send movement commands to the motor, while programmable features allow your shutters to operate automatically as required. You can set opening and closing times for each shutter for one or several days or even a week in advance, and the timer will operate your plastic, aluminium or wood shutters even in your absence. You can pretend to be at home even while you are away.
RF systems are suitable to provide motorised control for existing aluminium and wood shutters as well as newly installed ones. The RF control technology allows for retrofitting, as systems installed earlier are easy to integrate with new ones, and it is also possible to upgrade from the manual operation of existing shutters to automation.
