From the wide range of wood shutter types that are coming back to fashion, our company supplies the Extra type, a reminder of the atmosphere of old shutters, but constructed to modern technological standards.
These wood shutters, available only with internally mounted boxes, are usually made from carefully selected, weather-proof European redwood, but on request, we can construct it using virtually any wood that is suitable to produce slats (walnut, tropical wood). The Extra model is made with interlocked stainless steel claps holding individual slats together with no bolts visible from the inside, in contrast with the traditional structure as originally developed in the German town of Esslingen which used 20 mm steel sheets to join slats with bolts, where the bolt heads remained visible from the inside.
The new solution is more aesthetic and durable than the interlocking system used with the traditional type, with 3 or 4 bolts in the first slat holding the entire curtain below. Surfaces are treated with an antifungal primer, Milesi Hydrocom water-based stains and a clear, UV-resistant water-based finish, or Cellax dyes or Bondex paints. In addition to the traditional belt, a wide range of motors and controls from European market leader Somfy are available for the operation of the shutters (using wall switches, remote controls or programmable timers).
